Inspired by the exuberance of decorative arts and architecture rigor from an early age, David-Olivier Descombes became an interior designer and then an architect. After working with Ateliers Jean Nouvel and Maison Édouard François, he launched the agency DOD ARCHITECTE in 2009 and aims to connect between his two training periods. In 2017, he is joined by his wife Élise CHARPENET, interior architect. Today based in Paris and Normandy, the agency is made up of a team of architects and interior designers and claims its multidisciplinary over a vast territory; in the Ile-de-France region, the extension of several traditional pavilions transformed into contemporary residential houses is a trademark of DOD ARCHITECTE.
The agency is also building there for a private developer, his first set of new housing consisting of 3 townhouses and a small collective. In Paris, the agency assists restaurants and hotels owners in the process of creation and decoration of their café, brewery, restaurant, or hotel, like at place Pigalle with the delivery of Bouillon Pigalle which signals the revival of traditional Parisian bouillons with 300 seats, or several city districts with Tripletta pizzerias or Kozy cafés. We also fit out Haussmanian or contemporary flats, townhouses, where every detail is carefully designed and built by qualified companies. For these interior design projects, we design tailor-made furniture and select quality materials.
Finally, we also take charge of other types of programs, such as the childcare store Petit Bailly in St Lazare or the offices of a film producer in Nation. In Normandy, in the heart of the Pays d'Auge, in Perche, or on the Flowery Coast in Deauville-Trouville, DOD ARCHITECTE designs construction projects, renovation or extension of traditional Norman farmhouses or more contemporary houses. Elsewhere in France, we have renovated a 3 star hotel in Aurillac, designed a coworking space in Lille, and we are currently working on the renovation and extension of a detached house in Lyon as well as the creation of a landscaped garden and swimming pool, the layout of a restaurant in Rouen and the construction of a multi-purpose venue around Neapolitan gastronomy in Bordeaux. .
